Family Fun November Events
Let’s be honest, with the exception of Thanksgiving, November can be quite a boring month. It is not yet winter but it is starting to get very cold outside, so naturally everyone thinks that there aren’t many events going on when all everyone wants to do is go home and cuddle by the fire. But here is a list of November events within our South Coast community that are sure to guarantee a fun night out or a great volunteer experience!

Time: 6pm to 9:30pm
365 Days of Hope Gala is an organization that raises funds for Child and Family Services. The event will consist of wine tasting, local fare, live music, raffle and a silent auction. It is $75 per person and they have their special deal of ten tickets for $650.
When: Saturday, November 2, 2013
Where: 146 Tihonet Road, Wareham, MA 02571
Time: 9am to 2pm
Run around the cranberry bogs during the beautiful November season and receive special event inspired awards! It is $25 for adults if purchased in advance and $35 on racing day. Kids from ages 4 to 9 years old can also enjoy for just $15.
When: Saturday, November 2, 9, 16, & 23 2013
Where: 217 Hixbridge Road, Westport, MA 02790
Time: 12pm to 4pm
Located at Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery. The hayrides started in September and continue every Saturday until November 23rd. The ride is 30 minutes long and the cost is $5 per person while children under the age of two have free admission.

Where: 110 Middle Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719
Time: 5pm to 8pm
Located at Seaport Inn and Marina, The Neediest Families Fund will be raising money for the families in need during the holidays. Tickets are $50 which includes salad, bread, dessert, soup and your very own handmade ceramic bowl by Seth Rainville. There will also be a raffle/silent auction with great prizes including a dog sled ride and Red Sox Tickets.

Time: Reception is at 6pm and Lecture is 7pm to 8pm
Old Dartmouth Lyceum presents Kenn Harper and his lecture on Inuit and Whaling in the New Bedford Era. It will be held at the Whaling Museum in the Jacobs Family Gallery. Harper will speak about the whaling industry and its effect on the culture of the Inuit tribe in both Canada and Greenland. It costs $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden welcomes minister Bill Comeau to speak about art and life-changing collaborations with other artists and how creativity can be channeled into joy and healing. The session costs $10 per person.

Time: 10:30am to 11:30am
Buzzards Bay Coalition has set up three events on October 26, November 2 and November 9. For their November events, they offer Salt Marsh exploration at Little Bay Marsh and Forest Exploration at the Flora B. Peirce Nature Trail. All are great family fun and educational while incorporating the outdoors. Each event is free but requires reservations by going to their website.
